Job Summary:
As a Specialist in IT Inventory Support at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our IT inventory across our warehouse operations. Your primary focus will be ensuring the efficient handling, tracking, and support of IT assets, including hardware and software components. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that all IT inventory is accurately recorded, monitored, and utilized, supporting the operational excellence of American Airlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of IT assets within the warehouse, ensuring all processes adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, including hardware and software components, using inventory management systems.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of IT inventory to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Coordinate with IT support teams to identify and address inventory needs and discrepancies promptly.
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including tracking warranties, renewals, and end-of-life schedules.
- Implement and enforce best practices for inventory control and asset management.
- Provide timely support for IT asset requests and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Assist in the development and refinement of inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the disposal and recycling of obsolete or non-functional IT equipment in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within an IT or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of IT hardware, software, and asset management principles.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT inventory management or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IT asset management best practices and industry standards.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position.
- Standard working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexibility in hours may be required based on operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of IT hardware components and software applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
