Junior QA Analyst

Job Summary
CIBC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Analyst to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software applications.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions to understand project scope and deliverables.
  • Perform manual and automated testing, logging defects, and tracking their resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Analyze testing results and provide actionable feedback to stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation related to testing processes and results.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on testing progress and challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Experience

  • No prior experience is required; however, internships or relevant coursework in software testing or quality assurance are advantageous.
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with standard working hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
  • Flexibility for remote work may be available.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of basic programming concepts and languages (e.g., Java, Python) is beneficial.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
