Senior accountant, SCTC Accounting (Seattle/US Remote)

Job Summary

Fresher Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team at SCTC Accounting. This position can be based in Seattle or fulfilled remotely within the US. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including reconciliation and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding financial reporting and tax obligations.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Experience in managing a team or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
  • Background in a public accounting firm or experience in a corporate finance environment preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with flexible working hours.
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional in-office meetings as needed.
