Job Summary
Fresher Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures using standard classification systems. This position is critical for ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitating the smooth operation of medical billing processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and a passion for accuracy in healthcare documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.
- Participate in coding audits and implement recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and best practices.
- Assist in training and mentoring new coders or interns as required.
- Maintain detailed records of coded data and submit reports as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Medical Coder (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Full-time position; Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional overtime may be required based on workload.

- Knowledge of federal, state, and insurance coding guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
