Job Summary

Fresher Jobs is seeking an experienced and skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our chemical manufacturing plant team. This role is vital to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our production processes, focusing on identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and implementing proactive measures to prevent incidents. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve process safety management systems to mitigate potential risks in chemical manufacturing.
  • Conduct hazard identification studies, such as HAZOPs, PHAs, and other risk assessments to evaluate safety risks within plant operations.
  • Design, review, and update safety protocols, including emergency response plans, to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
  • Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safety procedures align with operational practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis and incident investigations for any safety-related incidents, proposing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and participate in safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to plant staff on safety protocols, risk mitigation practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Monitor industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure that the plants process safety practices remain current and effective.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of process safety management principles, hazard identification techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as OSHA, NFPA, and relevant chemical manufacturing safety guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey safety information and conduct training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
  • Certification in Process Safety (e.g., CSP, CFPS, or similar) is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in process safety within a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing process safety programs and protocols.
  • Experience with safety audits, compliance assessments, and incident investigations.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week, with occasional additional hours as required for special projects or incident response.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of chemical processes, process control systems, and engineering principles as they relate to safety.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools for risk assessment, hazard analysis, and incident tracking.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple safety initiatives and ensure timely completion.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to stay calm and composed in emergency situations and provide clear direction to teams.
