Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and assess current chemical processing operations to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process optimization strategies to increase production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, and quality control, to align optimization efforts with business objectives.
- Provide expertise on chemical process modeling, simulation, and scale-up methodologies.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to enhance product quality and yield.
- Monitor and report on process performance metrics, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports on project progress and outcomes.
- Train and mentor client teams in adopting new methodologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in chemical process optimization within manufacturing or consulting environments.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and material properties.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical engineering, with a focus on process optimization.
- Prior consulting experience is a plus, especially in diverse industry settings.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work remotely depending on project needs.
- Occasional travel may be required for on-site client meetings or assessments.
