Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Design Engineer – Chemical Process Equipment to join our team at Fresher Jobs. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Create detailed designs for chemical process equipment, including heat exchangers, reactors, separators, and distillation columns, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with process engineers to optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate technical drawings, specifications, and reports to support project development.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety, environmental, and industry standards, such as ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
- Prototyping and Testing: Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes, ensuring designs meet functional and performance criteria.
- Client Interaction: Communicate design concepts, progress, and modifications to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Project Management Support: Assist in project management tasks, including timeline estimation, cost analysis, and resource planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Aspen Plus).
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex design and process problems.
- Attention to Detail: Highly accurate and meticulous in preparing design documentation and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Innovative thinking and ability to troubleshoot design issues and improve designs as needed.
Experience:
- Minimum Experience: 1-3 years of experience in chemical engineering design, particularly in the design of chemical process equipment.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working in a similar industry or with specific equipment types, such as heat exchangers, pumps, or reactors, is a plus.
- Internships/Projects: Relevant academic projects or internships in the chemical engineering field are also considered.
Working Hours:
- Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week.
- Flexible Work Hours: The position allows for flexible hours within a core working window (9 AM to 5 PM), with opportunities for remote work as needed.
- Occasional Travel: Occasional site visits or travel may be required based on project needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Chemical Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of chemical process fundamentals, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Design Software Knowledge: Expertise in CAD, CAE, and simulation software for creating and testing designs.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges in both the design and testing phases.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate design solutions.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
