Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Research Engineer – Catalysis and Chemical Reactions to join our innovative research team. As a research engineer, you will work closely with a team of scientists and engineers to develop new catalytic processes and improve existing chemical reactions to support a variety of industries, including energy, environmental, and manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize catalytic reactions and processes.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate catalytic performance and reaction mechanisms.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to apply research findings to real-world applications.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and results.
- Create and present technical reports, publications, and patents based on research findings.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in catalysis, chemical reactions, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with external partners, including universities, research institutes, and industrial partners, on joint research projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (Masters or PhD preferred).
- Strong understanding of catalysis, chemical reaction engineering, and reaction kinetics.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and instrumentation used in chemical reaction research.
- Proficiency in data analysis and computational modeling tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis software.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a research or laboratory-based environment focusing on catalysis, chemical reactions, or a related area.
- Experience in process design, optimization, and scale-up is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with industrial-scale catalytic processes and their applications is a plus.
- Previous experience in publishing scientific papers or filing patents would be advantageous.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position with flexible working hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required depending on project deadlines.
- Ability to work remotely on certain tasks depending on the nature of the research.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of reaction mechanisms, catalyst design, and material characterization techniques.
