Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Ensure that all coding is accurate and complies with industry standards and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Work with healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies in medical documentation.
- Maintain accurate documentation for coding, ensuring proper tracking and reporting of coding activity.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and insurance, to ensure coding accuracy and timely processing of claims.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in coding practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and confidentiality regulations (HIPAA).
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance coding knowledge and skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Ability to interpret medical records and patient charts.
- Good communication skills for interacting with medical staff and other team members.
- Proficiency in using coding software and basic office applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience
- Freshers or candidates with limited experience in medical coding are encouraged to apply.
- Any relevant certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Previous internship experience or training in healthcare or medical coding is advantageous.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with flexible work hours.
- Standard working hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Option for remote work may be available after a probationary period.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
