Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Multispecialty Pro Fee Medical Coders to join our growing team at Fresher Jobs. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to determine appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Assign codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services across multiple specialties, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and payer requirements.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies or clarify documentation when necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, payer policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate coding to facilitate billing and reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate with the billing team to ensure proper claim submission and avoid denials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in multispecialty professional fee medical coding.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Familiarity with payer-specific coding guidelines and medical coding audits.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high accuracy in coding assignments.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software (e.g., 3M, Optum360).
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years in medical coding, specifically in multispecialty professional fee coding.
- Experience working remotely or in a virtual setting is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of accuracy and consistency in coding practices.
- Experience with medical coding audits and payer-specific coding guidelines is a plus.
Working Hours:
- This is a full-time, remote position with flexible working hours.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (with some flexibility depending on client requirements).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accurate and thorough coding.
- Ability to interpret complex medical records and assign appropriate codes.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in resolving discrepancies or obtaining additional information from providers.
- Proficient with coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- High level of organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve coding issues.
