Job Overview

We are hiring a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team for excavation and site preparation work. The successful candidate will operate various types of heavy machinery—such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders—to prepare land for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who values precision, safety, and working outdoors on challenging and rewarding projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment for digging, grading, trenching, and earthmoving activities

  • Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance checks on assigned equipment

  • Read site plans, grades, and staking to execute accurate excavation work

  • Coordinate with site supervisors and other crew members to meet project timelines

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all health and safety procedures

  • Monitor equipment performance and report issues to maintenance staff

  • Load and unload materials and assist in site cleanup as needed

  • Adhere to environmental and municipal regulations on all job sites


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment

  • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent provincial license

  • Experience with excavation, backfilling, and grading required

  • Strong understanding of ground conditions, slope safety, and trenching best practices

  • Ability to read and interpret construction site plans and layouts

  • Physically fit and able to work in variable outdoor weather conditions

  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites

  • Commitment to workplace safety and professionalism

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
