Key Responsibilities

Serve as the technical liaison between internal engineering teams and external suppliers, ensuring components are both manufacturable and fully compliant with design and technical requirements.

Conduct on-site supplier visits to provide hands-on technical support, especially in resolving complex manufacturing issues or addressing supplier performance challenges.

Collaborate with the Quality team to lead root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Apply principles of APQP, PFMEA, and PPAP to influence product design and optimize production processes, supporting Procurement in upholding supplier quality standards.

Partner closely with the Procurement team to integrate technical considerations into supplier selection, category strategies, and long-term supplier development.

Participate in cross-functional design reviews and risk assessments that impact supply chain capabilities and product delivery.

Travel regularly within the UK, with occasional travel across Europe, to engage with suppliers and support critical program needs.
Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering or technical supply chain role within the defence, maritime, aerospace, or high-integrity engineering sectors.

HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent qualification).

In-depth knowledge of complex manufacturing processes, including machining, fabricated assemblies, PCBAs, welding, coatings, NDT, and composite materials.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, apply GD&T principles, and work with material and process specifications.

Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills to build effective relationships across suppliers and internal teams.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and a solid understanding of supply chain operations and best practices.
