What You will Do

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to help deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Serve as a key liaison between engineering and other departments, ensuring clear communication and driving progress on behalf of senior engineers.

  • Support a variety of engineering activities across projects and programs, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn under the guidance of experienced engineers. Typical tasks may include:

    • Writing Method Statements and Test Specifications

    • Implementing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)

    • Supporting change management processes

    • Updating technical drawings

    • Participating in occasional on-site work

  • Contribute actively to internal and external meetings, offering insights and feedback that help shape project direction.

  • Maintain clear, organised, and accurate documentation in line with local operating procedures.

What You will Bring (Essential)

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Engineering qualification or completed engineering apprenticeship, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage across departments and help move engineering actions forward.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, supporting efficiency in everyday tasks.

  • A quick learner with a flexible, hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges.

  • A methodical, detail-oriented working style suited to technical environments.

  • Strong self-organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage tasks independently under general direction.

  • Confidence in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers and customers.

  • A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for personal development through hands-on experience in a dynamic setting.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and the curiosity to apply them in real-world scenarios.

  • Experience supporting the design, build, testing, and delivery of complex defence systems or similar high-stakes projects.

  • Familiarity with recognised electrical design software and tools.

  • Ambition to grow into a specialist or supervisory role, with a desire to take full advantage of development opportunities offered by the role.
