To provide comprehensive commercial management across the full lifecycle of contracts — from initial enquiry through to final payment and project close-out.
The role will lead on commercial aspects of key tenders, including preparation of quotations, drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing customer agreements.
You will also provide day-to-day support to the Commercial Manager and wider Commercial team.
Key Responsibilities

Review and respond to customer enquiries and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).

Lead negotiations on prime contracts with both UK and international customers, including the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Draft and manage a variety of contractual documents, including NDAs, consultancy agreements, software licences, and more.

Liaise directly with customers regarding new and existing business — covering terms and conditions, contracts, proposals, and invoicing.

Support Programme Managers and Project Teams on contractual matters to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery while mitigating risk.

Drive improvements in working capital by optimising payment terms and plans through effective contract negotiation and delivery execution.

Actively support trade compliance, including import and export control activities.
Qualifications & Skills Required

Proven experience in negotiating and managing contracts for the development, delivery, and support of systems and equipment, both domestically and internationally.

Strong working knowledge of industrial and commercial contract frameworks, with specific experience in MoD contractual conditions.

Excellent commercial acumen and a strong attention to detail.

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels and promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
