About the Role

The Supply Chain is the heartbeat of every successful business — connecting people, processes, and resources to ensure that products and services move seamlessly from supplier to customer. It is far more than simply moving parts from A to B.

As a Supply Chain Apprentice, you will develop a deep understanding of our end-to-end supply chain — from design release through to component delivery. You will explore how effective demand and specification management influence each stage, learning how to deliver maximum value and performance to the business.

This role sits within our Programme Management function, but over the three-year apprenticeship you will rotate through several supply chain areas to gain a holistic view of our operations. Expect to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly — and where your ability to analyse data, solve problems, and build strong working relationships will set you apart.

Your work will have a direct impact on vehicle performance by helping to create a faster, more agile supply chain that accelerates development and enables compressed build programmes.

Rotations May Include:

  • Manufacturing Scheduling
  • Purchasing
  • Internal Logistics
  • Programme Delivery
  • Finance

Training and Development

Alongside your hands-on experience, you will work towards the Supply Chain Practitioner (FMCG) Level 3 qualification. You will also complete a 3-day Professional Foundation Qualification in Programme Management, and gain exposure to risk, change, and project management techniques — building a well-rounded foundation for your future career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Formula 1 supply chain, identifying shortfalls and improvement opportunities from design release to delivery.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across Operations and Engineering functions.
  • Support demand forecasting, providing long-term order strategies and coverage to stabilise the supply chain.
  • Manage engineering change processes, ensuring updated plans are clearly communicated and implemented.
  • Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, ensuring the correct parts are requested and structured properly.
  • Ensure financial transparency and effective demand segregation across programmes to maximise budget efficiency in a cost-capped environment.
  • Champion supply chain best practices, driving planning efficiency and consistent methodologies across teams.
  • Proactively manage obsolescence risk, developing re-use or run-down strategies to minimise waste.
  • Support the evolution of our planning tools and MRP (SAP) systems, creating automation opportunities through bespoke code and transactions.
  • Implement cost-effective shortage mitigation strategies, particularly for high-consumption consumables, while balancing cost and obsolescence risk.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented
  • Capable of building strong cross-functional relationships
  • Enthusiastic about learning and working in a fast-moving technical environment

What You will Gain

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will have a thorough, practical understanding of the full supply chain lifecycle — from sourcing and logistics to programme delivery and financial management. You will be equipped with the technical, analytical, and leadership skills needed to accelerate your career in Programme or Supply Chain Management.
