Job Purpose
Perform structural maintenance activities including airframe repairs, modifications, installations, replacements, and inspections on airline and third-party aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance data, regulatory standards, and company procedures, ensuring safety, airworthiness, and full compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for and carry out repairs, modifications, installations, and replacements of aircraft structures and components as per task cards, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to operational and safety requirements.
- Review task cards with the Engineer/Supervisor to confirm work scope, required documentation, priorities, and safety precautions prior to starting any task.
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and modifications to approved standards, accurately identifying, documenting, and reporting defects or damage.
- Rectify structural defects and perform installations or replacements using approved technical data and engineering instructions.
- Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are properly issued from stores, used correctly, and returned in good condition upon task completion.
- Execute assigned task cards and complete sign-off in the Maintenance Information System accurately and in a timely manner.
Continued Responsibilities
- Maintain effective communication with engineers, technicians, and other relevant teams to ensure coordination, task continuity, and smooth handovers.
- Strictly follow safety procedures, human factors guidelines, and published maintenance practices before and during all work to safeguard personnel and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times, upholding high housekeeping standards.
- Use resources efficiently to minimize consumable waste, avoid rework, and optimize material usage and repair costs.
- Provide proactive, professional, and solution-oriented technical support to operational teams across the airline.
- Represent the company with a positive and professional technical image in interactions with internal stakeholders and third-party customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structures/Airframe) or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Ability to perform fabrication tasks.
- Good understanding of aircraft airframe systems, repair techniques, approved maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance task cards, and engineering instructions.
- Proficient in the use of workshop tools and equipment.
- Basic computer literacy for accessing maintenance information systems and documentation.
- Familiarity with inspection techniques and troubleshooting methods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a dynamic operational environment.
- Awareness of human factors principles in aircraft maintenance.
- Physically fit and able to work in various operational conditions (e.g., confined spaces, outdoor environments).
- Willingness to work rostered shifts based on operational requirements.
