Lead DevOps Engineer | Bangalore, IN

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Lead DevOps Engineer to join our technology team in Bangalore. This role plays a critical part in designing, building, and scaling resilient cloud and DevOps platforms that support LSEG’s global financial markets infrastructure.

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will provide both technical leadership and hands-on expertise, driving automation, reliability, security, and performance across complex, mission-critical systems. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, SREs, and product teams to enable faster, safer, and more reliable delivery of services that power global trading, data, and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps and CI/CD platforms

• Architect and manage cloud-based infrastructure using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices

• Drive automation across build, test, release, deployment, and monitoring pipelines

• Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and security of production systems

• Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to embed DevOps best practices

• Mentor and guide DevOps engineers, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning

• Define and enforce standards for monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response

• Participate in root cause analysis and drive long-term reliability improvements

• Support compliance, governance, and security requirements relevant to financial services

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong experience with DevOps engineering in large-scale, enterprise environments

• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)

• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or similar)

• Solid scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent)

• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, etc.)

• Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals

• Familiarity with security, compliance, and reliability practices in regulated environments

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering

• Prior experience in a lead or senior technical role is strongly preferred

• Experience working in financial services, large technology platforms, or highly regulated industries is an advantage

Working Hours

• Full-time role based in Bangalore, India

• Standard business hours with flexibility

• May require occasional on-call or after-hours support for critical systems
