Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Logistics Systems & Process Improvement Engineer to support continuous improvement initiatives across global logistics, warehouse operations, and supply chain functions. This role focuses on operational analysis, automation systems, process optimization, reporting, and cross-functional project execution. The ideal candidate will leverage engineering principles, data analytics, and technology solutions to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Analysis & Operational Excellence

  • Conduct time studies, zero-based analysis, rate studies, network analysis, statistical evaluations, flow path reviews, and supply chain assessments.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through benchmarking, competitive analysis, and critical thinking.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, KPIs, forecasts, cost estimates, and cost models for logistics operations.
  • Provide facility, transportation, and capacity planning analysis for distribution functions.
  • Analyze operational data to identify performance gaps and recommend improvements.

Systems, Automation & Technology

  • Support and improve warehouse and logistics systems including:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Laser Guided Vehicles (LGV)
    • Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
    • Integrated material handling systems
  • Assist with design, specification, procurement, installation, and startup of new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Evaluate and recommend software or system enhancements.
  • Develop business tools, reports, dashboards, and ad hoc queries to support operations.

Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support

  • Lead or support cross-functional strategic projects focused on cost savings, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive facility and process upgrades through cost-effective capital improvement projects.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, business rules, and standardized processes.
  • Use modeling, simulation, and engineering methodologies to validate assumptions and optimize systems.
  • Apply preventative design approaches to identify risks and reduce operational failures.

Data Analytics & Optimization

  • Design and implement mathematical models and optimization algorithms for supply chain and logistics improvement.
  • Interpret predictive and descriptive analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Build production capacity models using operational data and sales forecasts.
  • Develop intuitive reporting tools that identify trends, risks, and opportunities in real time.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and optimization across the organization.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with plant leadership, supervisors, operations teams, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to improve systems and processes.
  • Prepare project updates, expenditure proposals, cost justifications, presentations, and management reports.
  • Provide technical support and drive consistency across operational sites.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering, automation systems, or related field.
  • Exposure to advanced material handling systems and information technologies.
  • Experience supporting lifecycle implementations of engineered automation solutions.
  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
