SQL Server Data Warehouse Architect
A SQL Server Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions. The role involves translating business requirements into scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures using Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Warehouse Architecture
- Design and implement end-to-end data warehouse solutions on Microsoft SQL Server.
- Define scalable and high-performance data architecture aligned with business needs.
2. Data Modeling & ETL/ELT Design
- Develop logical and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
- Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines for reliable data integration and transformation.
3. Performance Optimization
- Optimize SQL Server performance through advanced T-SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Analyze execution plans and improve overall data retrieval efficiency.
4. Data Governance & Security
- Establish data standards, governance frameworks, and documentation practices.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with organizational policies.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and architectural designs.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in data warehousing, data engineering, or solution/data architecture roles.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and advanced T-SQL, including query tuning and execution plan analysis.
- Data Modeling: Proficiency in designing data models using tools such as ER/Studio or Erwin.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and performance optimization techniques.
