We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our Airport Operations team in Johannesburg as an Airport Services Duty Supervisor. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate daily flight-handling activities—including check-in, boarding, transfers, and flight editing—to deliver world-class service standards and ensure on-time departures. You will also deputize for the Airport Services Duty Officer and/or Airport Representative when required.
Key Responsibilities

Act as Station Coordinator, liaising with Ground Handling Agents (GHA) and Qatar Airways departments to meet on-time performance targets.

Supervise check-in, boarding, and flight closure processes to ensure efficiency and punctuality.

Coordinate ramp handling activities with GHA, catering, fuel, cargo, maintenance, and crew teams to expedite departures.

Plan and allocate duties effectively to maximize workforce productivity during shifts.

Review aircraft allocations based on movement signals, loads, and late arrivals while keeping all departments informed.

Support the Duty Officer during disruptions, delays, misconnections, or denied boarding, ensuring passengers receive appropriate care and assistance.

Provide passengers with full support and facilities during disruptions within your duty period.

Perform additional operational duties as assigned by the Airport Services Manager to ensure smooth station operations.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in airline or aviation-related roles

Technical Skills & Training:
-
Customer relations training (Passenger Services – Altea, Baggage Services – World Tracer, Ground Operations – GSM/GOM)

Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations, weight and balance procedures

Proficiency in Amadeus Reservations & Ticketing (including ID/AD ticketing)
