Job Purpose
We are offering an exciting Apprenticeship in Heavy Equipment Mechanics for motivated individuals who are eager to build a career in the construction and engineering industry. This program combines hands-on workshop training with structured learning, preparing you for a trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, cranes, trucks).

  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under supervision.

  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.

  • Support in dismantling, assembling, and testing mechanical components.

  • Use workshop tools and equipment safely and responsibly.

  • Keep the workspace clean, safe, and well-organized.

  • Record tasks completed and parts used in the training logbook.

  • Participate in both practical and theoretical training sessions as required.

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (or equivalent).

  • N2/N3 in Engineering Studies (Diesel / Mechanical) beneficial.

  • Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher) preferred.

  • Strong interest in mechanics and heavy construction machinery.

  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.

  • Physically fit and able to work in demanding, outdoor environments.
