Job Purpose
We are offering an exciting Apprenticeship in Heavy Equipment Mechanics for motivated individuals who are eager to build a career in the construction and engineering industry. This program combines hands-on workshop training with structured learning, preparing you for a trade qualification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
Key Responsibilities

Assist senior mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, cranes, trucks).

Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under supervision.

Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.

Support in dismantling, assembling, and testing mechanical components.

Use workshop tools and equipment safely and responsibly.

Keep the workspace clean, safe, and well-organized.

Record tasks completed and parts used in the training logbook.

Participate in both practical and theoretical training sessions as required.

Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (or equivalent).

N2/N3 in Engineering Studies (Diesel / Mechanical) beneficial.

Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher) preferred.

Strong interest in mechanics and heavy construction machinery.

Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.

Physically fit and able to work in demanding, outdoor environments.
