At Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, we offer a Level 4 IT Software Apprenticeship Programme, where you will study towards a Level 4 Applications Support Lead qualification. This programme is designed for driven individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to contribute to our ongoing success.

As part of our team, you will be challenged and supported while gaining exposure to exciting projects across Motorsport and Advanced Technology, including cutting-edge vehicle electrification. You will work on projects that push the boundaries of creativity and technical capability, making a real impact on both Formula 1 performance and automotive innovation.

We focus on improving reliability, availability, and performance, and we pride ourselves on sharing knowledge and developing innovative processes. As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support, troubleshooting and resolving IT and software issues across the business.
  • Collaborate to improve systems and procedures, reducing complexity and enhancing reliability.
  • Develop bespoke software solutions for company-wide rollout.
  • Deliver software using the most suitable programming languages and technologies to support top-class IT services.

What We are Looking For:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication
  • Flexibility, teamwork, and ability to work towards targets and deadlines
  • Dedication to learning, improving, and developing new skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and perform under pressure
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English (grade 4 or above)
  • Passion for software development and delivering practical IT solutions

We also offer an IT Systems Apprentice Scheme focusing on hardware, networks, and security.

Desired Knowledge & Experience:

  • Delivering excellent customer service
  • Operational support within an IT department or equivalent
  • Planning, organising, and delivering IT tasks in a team environment
  • Software development and/or scripting in languages like C# or Python
  • Scripting, orchestration, and automation techniques
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices and technologies, e.g., MS DevOps
