Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper waste disposal and compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in regular safety training and drills to maintain a high level of workplace safety.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of waste management policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials and provide support in containment and cleanup efforts.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and maintain appropriate safety equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in hazardous waste management or related areas is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of chemical properties and hazardous material regulations.
  • Proficiency in safety protocols and best practices for waste management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hazardous waste management, environmental services, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in handling and disposing of chemical waste is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a compliance-oriented role is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with standard working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime may be required to meet operational needs or during emergency situations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards related to hazardous waste management.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess situations and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using various computer applications for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Capability to operate specialized equipment used in waste management processes.
