Job Overview

We are hiring a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience in both residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to support bidding and budgeting processes.

This is a key role within the pre-construction team, offering growth opportunities in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates

  • Develop quantity take-offs for materials, labour, and equipment

  • Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for pricing accuracy

  • Prepare tender submissions, bid packages, and cost breakdowns

  • Conduct site visits when needed to gather relevant project information

  • Collaborate with project managers and designers on value engineering and scope changes

  • Track historical cost data to support budgeting and future estimates

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as required

  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards in all estimates


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating residential and/or commercial construction

  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, MS Excel)

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and current market pricing

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines

  • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and tendering processes

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
