This apprenticeship program provides structured on-the-job training and classroom instruction to develop the skills required to become a qualified Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy-duty machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing earthmoving equipment.

Learn to strip, assemble, and test engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and brake systems.

Support with routine inspections and scheduled servicing.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

Accurately record repair and maintenance activities in logbooks.

Attend all classroom/theoretical training modules (e.g., TVET college or training center).

Follow strict health, safety, and environmental procedures, including the correct use of PPE.

Learn to operate diagnostic tools, instruments, and workshop equipment.
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science, OR
N2/N3 Certificate in relevant trade theory subjects (Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Fitting & Turning). -
South African citizen, aged 18–35 years.

Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and field conditions.

Willing to commit to the full apprenticeship program duration.

Strong technical aptitude with problem-solving skills.

Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
Advantageous
