Job Purpose
The Cabin Appearance Engineer/Technician is responsible for performing and supervising base-level cabin appearance maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft within the scope of the applicable license category. The role ensures all assigned work is executed, certified, and documented accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with Air Arabia standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Ensure availability, compatibility, and readiness of cabin appearance components in line with approved standards and required quantities.
- Review assigned task cards with the Workshop Supervisor to understand scope, priorities, documentation requirements, and safety considerations before commencing work.
- Prepare for and perform scheduled cabin appearance maintenance as per task cards, ensuring work feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and correct usage of documentation, parts, tools, and GSE.
- Conduct component tests and inspections to accurately detect and record any defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- Perform defect rectification in accordance with Aircraft Approved Data and instructions from the Engineering Department.
- Certify tasks performed or supervised within own authorization, ensuring all documentation is completed to the required standard.
- Coordinate effectively with Engineers and Technicians to ensure smooth workflow, task continuity, and proper handover.
Safety
- Follow and enforce all mandatory safety procedures prior to and during maintenance activities.
- Take proactive measures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others, including proper use of GSE and protective equipment.
- Manage human-factors considerations by maintaining continuity of critical tasks, avoiding interruptions, and ensuring proper handovers.
Reputation & Teamwork
- Provide proactive, professional support to internal operational teams, offering helpful advice and solutions.
- Lead and guide Technicians assigned to support maintenance activities, ensuring they are clearly briefed on non-certifying tasks.
- Represent Air Arabia professionally, maintaining a positive image when interacting with flight crew, external personnel, and customers.
Cost Awareness
- Maintain strong awareness of maintenance costs, including time and material usage.
- Reduce unnecessary waste of consumables and avoid repeat work or preventable damage during maintenance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Aeronautical diploma or equivalent in applicable engineering discipline, with required Aircraft Maintenance License and company approvals on relevant Airbus A320 components.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted GCAA CAR 66 Category License.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and technical communication).
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain a UAE Driver’s License.
