Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste management standards.
- Environmental Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments, including air and water quality testing, and monitor waste disposal practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, interpret, and report environmental data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement.
- Risk Assessment & Management: Develop risk mitigation plans to address potential environmental hazards and ensure safe chemical handling and storage.
- Training & Education: Conduct training sessions for staff on environmental safety practices and compliance protocols.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Lead projects that promote environmental sustainability and reduce the companys carbon footprint.
- Liaison: Serve as the main contact for environmental regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting and issue resolution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certification in environmental compliance (e.g., CEM, CESM) is a plus.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of chemical industry processes, environmental impact assessment, and waste management practices.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and REACH.
- Software Skills: Proficient in environmental monitoring software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex environmental issues and devise effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an environmental engineering role, preferably within the chemical industry.
- Proven track record of managing compliance projects and conducting environmental audits.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with standard hours, Monday through Friday.
- Some flexibility may be required for project deadlines and compliance reporting.
