Field Engineer (Data Cabling)

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test data cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
• Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and prepare detailed installation plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues efficiently and effectively on-site.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations during all installations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure timely project completion.
• Provide training and support to junior technicians and field personnel as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data cabling.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in data cabling installation and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
• Proficiency in using testing and troubleshooting tools such as cable testers and network analyzers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a field engineering role or a related technical position.
• Previous experience in data cabling installation and network setups is highly preferred.

Working Hours

• Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional overtime or weekend work based on project requirements.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of data cabling standards and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in cabling installations.
