Healthcare Policy Analyst – Remote – Cigna Work from Home

Cigna Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Healthcare Policy Analyst to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing, interpreting, and shaping healthcare policies that impact Cigna’s operations, members, and healthcare services. By providing in-depth research, policy recommendations, and regulatory insights, you will support Cigna’s mission to enhance the quality of care and ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Policy Analysis & Research: Conduct thorough research and analysis of healthcare policies, laws, regulations, and industry trends. Provide insights and recommendations to guide Cigna’s strategic decisions and ensure compliance with evolving healthcare regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret federal and state healthcare regulations (including ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance) to ensure that Cigna’s policies and operations remain compliant.
• Policy Recommendations: Develop policy briefs, reports, and presentations that summarize research findings and propose actionable policy recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with internal teams such as legal, government affairs, compliance, and clinical operations to align healthcare policies with Cigna’s business goals and operational needs.
• Legislative Tracking: Track and analyze proposed healthcare legislation and regulatory changes that could impact Cigna, advising relevant teams on potential business implications.
• Advocacy Support: Support Cigna’s advocacy efforts by providing data and policy insights for external stakeholders, such as government agencies, healthcare providers, and policymakers.
• Impact Assessment: Evaluate the potential impact of healthcare policy changes on Cigna’s products, services, and member populations. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of policy research, recommendations, and actions taken. Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare policy analysis, healthcare consulting, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance or healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicare/Medicaid policies, and healthcare reform.
• Experience interpreting complex healthcare laws, regulations, and policies and translating them into actionable strategies.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess policy implications and develop clear recommendations.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with policy analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex policy information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with healthcare insurance or managed care systems.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment surrounding health insurance, managed care, and provider networks.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes at both the state and federal levels.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
