Job Summary
Fresher Jobs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator to join our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of vehicles and equipment in various situations, including roadside assistance, recovery operations, and emergency response. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty tow trucks and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Respond to towing and recovery requests in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the public.
- Assess vehicle conditions and determine the safest and most effective towing methods.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients, including explaining procedures and costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all services rendered, including vehicle details, locations, and times.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of towing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with dispatch to receive job assignments and report back on completed tasks.
- Follow all state and local regulations, as well as company policies, related to towing operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience operating heavy-duty tow trucks and similar vehicles.
- Strong understanding of towing techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator or in a similar role.
- Experience with recovery operations and roadside assistance preferred.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- On-call duties may be necessary based on operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle recovery methods and techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy-duty towing equipment safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with local roads and traffic laws.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
