Job Title: HR Generalist

Job Overview:
The HR Generalist serves as the primary HR resource for assigned client groups at the professional or managerial level. This role supports various HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation, benefits, and special projects. Acting as a trusted advisor to line managers, the HR Generalist ensures compliance with HR policies and relevant laws, providing guidance on operational HR issues and helping drive initiatives that align with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize recruitment processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for assigned roles, collaborating with hiring managers to draft job descriptions, develop recruiting plans, conduct interviews, and support hiring decisions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and employee recognition initiatives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; stay informed on legal updates.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee concerns; investigate and resolve employee relations issues appropriately.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze feedback, and recommend improvements to management for enhancing employee engagement and retention.
  • Interpret HR policies and legal requirements, advising managers and employees accordingly.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to increase departmental efficiency and service quality.
  • Participate in setting department goals and developing systems to support HR functions.
  • Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions, aligned with company values.
  • Maintain regular onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that align with skills and experience, adapting to evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Associates degree with 4 years of relevant experience; OR
  • High school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HR systems such as SAP, Kronos, or ADP; SAP preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly motivated, conscientious, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and managers through complex and sensitive issues.
  • Sound judgment to recommend effective solutions consistent with laws and company policies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining composure.
  • Positive “can do” attitude and professionalism, minimizing negative behaviors.
