Human Resources Generalist – Employee Relations

Job Summary:

Fresher Jobs is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Human Resources Generalist – Employee Relations to join our HR team. This position plays a critical role in fostering a positive working environment by managing employee relations, resolving workplace conflicts, and supporting various HR functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and effective communication strategies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the creation and enforcement of company policies, ensuring that they align with current labor laws and best practices.
  • Grievance Handling: Address employee grievances promptly and effectively, working to resolve issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Employee Engagement: Support initiatives aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retention, including feedback surveys, team-building events, and recognition programs.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training programs related to employee relations, conflict resolution, and company policies to foster a positive work culture.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including EEOC and ADA regulations.
  • HR Support: Collaborate with other HR functions such as recruitment, benefits administration, and payroll to provide holistic support to employees.
  • Reporting: Track and report on employee relations metrics, trends, and compliance status to HR leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, HR management, or similar roles (minimum of 2-3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively address employee concerns.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, particularly in employee relations or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle employee grievances and workplace conflicts in a professional and unbiased manner.
  • Previous experience in creating or enforcing HR policies and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours if required, depending on the needs of the business.

  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, conflict resolution strategies, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively mediate disputes and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing business needs and handle challenging situations with professionalism and tact.
