Position Summary:
The Process Improvement Lead drives operational excellence within the Distribution Center by implementing process improvement methodologies and supporting Walmart Performance System (WPS) initiatives. This role focuses on eliminating losses, standardizing processes, and enhancing associate capability to deliver measurable performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Execution

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, and Time & Motion studies to eliminate process losses.

  • Deliver functional area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and the creation of standard work to reduce variation.

  • Manage execution of top-loss projects within assigned areas and ensure alignment with network-wide process structures.

  • Apply and support deployment of “One Best Way” playbooks and contribute to divisional improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct performance and gap analyses to identify opportunities for WPS integration and efficiency gains.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Area and Department Managers to drive process improvement, associate engagement, and KPI performance.

  • Support project ideation, replication, and execution across functional areas.

  • Build capability among managers and associates by coaching on WPS methodologies and continuous improvement tools.

People Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associates by hiring, training, recognizing performance, and fostering a culture of belonging.

  • Promote teamwork and open communication while ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

  • Encourage continuous learning and support associates’ professional growth through Walmart’s development programs.
