Position Summary
The Process Improvement Manager leads and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the Distribution Center by applying process improvement tools and methodologies such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, and Time & Motion Studies. This role focuses on eliminating operational losses, standardizing best practices, and achieving key performance targets through the Walmart Performance System (WPS).
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement & Execution
- Lead process improvement efforts in alignment with Walmart’s Network Process Structure and WPS programs.
- Use analytical tools and KPI tracking to identify performance gaps, eliminate losses, and create standard work to reduce process variation.
- Oversee execution of projects targeting top operational losses in assigned functional areas.
- Support implementation of “One Best Way” network playbooks and provide feedback to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams for replication opportunities.
Operational Excellence
- Conduct loss and gap analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Area Managers to review, support, and respond to ongoing process improvement projects.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives by removing inefficiencies and promoting lean processes.
- Manage tactical deployment of WPS methodologies and tools.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Support Department Managers with WPS programs, associate engagement, and KPI improvements.
- Develop and mentor associates by providing training, assigning responsibilities, and recognizing contributions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and meet customer needs.
