Job Summary
CIBC is seeking a dedicated IT Quality Assurance Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards for our IT products, particularly within CIBC and Simplii Online Banking (OLB). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement testing strategies that guarantee the reliability and performance of our applications. Your keen attention to detail and analytical mindset will be essential in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring a seamless user experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Perform manual and automated testing on various platforms, ensuring that applications meet the defined quality standards.
- Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and project managers to identify and resolve defects and issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in requirement review sessions and provide input to enhance overall quality and usability.
- Track and report on testing progress, defects, and overall quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software quality assurance, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Proficiency in test management and automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter) is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT quality assurance or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience in testing web-based applications, particularly in online banking environments.
- Experience with mobile application testing is advantageous.
Working Hours
- Full-time position with standard working hours (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM). Flexibility may be required to accommodate project timelines.
