Role and Responsibilities

As a Manager within our Financial Asset Management team, you will lead a group of 2 or more professionals, setting direction, driving performance, and ensuring goals are met. You will oversee a portfolio of three or more clients (with flexibility depending on workload demands), and provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to help team members succeed and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of Senior Associates and Associates, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and with a high standard of accuracy. Provide ongoing mentorship and feedback to foster professional growth.

  • Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for multiple clients, overseeing the preparation of deliverables and handling inquiries. Ensure timely and accurate communication of critical information.

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and members’ equity statements. Ensure all financial records, reconciliations, and budget processes are accurate and on track.

  • Audit & Tax Support: Manage the external audit process and collaborate with tax teams to ensure compliance with GAAP across all entities. Oversee debt service payments, equity distributions, and intercompany account reconciliations.

  • Process Improvement & Strategy: Continuously assess and improve internal processes. Develop and manage long-term project schedules, ensuring the team meets deadlines and delivers high-quality work.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate meetings with clients, external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Resolve issues efficiently and provide solutions that align with client and company goals.

  • Team Development: Create development plans, provide training, and implement company policies. Lead initiatives to enhance team performance and drive organizational improvements.

Required Qualifications & Education

  • 1-2 years of management experience, with a proven track record in accounting or finance.

  • University degree (or equivalent) with 4-6 years of experience in finance or accounting. A Master’s/Graduate degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience is also considered.

  • Strong expertise in GAAP accounting principles, including revenue recognition, leases, and other core accounting topics.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience presenting to senior management, boards of directors, and clients.

  • BS in Accounting or Finance (preferred).

  • GAAP Expertise: In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and the ability to research technical questions using authoritative literature.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues promptly, making informed decisions to ensure the success of the portfolio.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and make trade-offs to meet deadlines and quality standards.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead a team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

  • Adaptability: Capable of navigating changing priorities, handling interruptions, and managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Public Accounting: Experience working in a public accounting firm is a plus.

  • Team Management: Experience managing small teams and delivering cross-functional projects.

  • Process Improvement: Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

  • Green Energy/Utilities: Knowledge or experience in the renewable energy or utilities sector.

  • Certifications: Active CPA or CFA designation is highly preferred.

  • Advanced Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe PDF tools.
