Fresher Jobs is seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder (CPC) with experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) for a full-time remote position. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review and code medical records according to established coding guidelines and compliance regulations.
- Ensure the correct assignment of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for surgical and diagnostic procedures performed in an ASC setting.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure documentation supports the coded services.
- Perform audits of coded charts to maintain quality and accuracy, providing feedback and education to healthcare staff as necessary.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, payer policies, and compliance issues to mitigate risks and ensure best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support billing processes by providing accurate and timely coding information to the billing department.
- Participate in continuous education and professional development activities to maintain CPC certification and coding expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential from AAPC or equivalent.
- Proven experience in medical coding within an Ambulatory Surgery Center environment.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with healthcare professionals.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in an ASC setting.
- Previous experience in a remote working environment is preferred.
Working Hours
- This is a full-time remote position with flexible working hours. Standard hours are expected to be 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime as needed.
