Key Responsibilities
- Medical Coding: Accurately assign medical codes to various healthcare procedures, diagnoses, and treatments based on patient records.
- Documentation Review: Review medical charts and patient documentation to ensure proper coding and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure that all coding practices align with the latest medical coding guidelines and regulatory requirements, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of medical records.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on coded data to minimize errors and discrepancies, ensuring compliance with company and healthcare industry standards.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes to coding practices, new regulations, and emerging trends in the medical field.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: A degree in Pharmacy (B Pharmacy), Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field is required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology: A solid understanding of medical terminologies and procedures.
- Coding Systems Familiarity: Basic knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS is a plus (training will be provided).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive data with high accuracy and ensure proper documentation.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and team members.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using medical coding software, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic computer skills.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Experience
- Freshers with a background in Pharmaceutical Sciences, B Pharmacy, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in medical coding or healthcare documentation is a plus but not mandatory. On-the-job training will be provided to the selected candidates.
Working Hours
- Full-time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (remote work option).
- Flexible work hours may be available depending on the candidates location and needs.
