Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review and code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Ensure that all coding is compliant with healthcare regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and practices.
- Conduct audits and quality assurance checks on coded data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff as needed.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance coding skills.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback on coding trends and areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, or RHIT/RHIA) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Experience with coding audits and quality assurance processes is a plus.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed.

- In-depth knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex medical information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and coding software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
