Key Responsibilities
- Content Moderation: Review and remove spam comments, promotional content, and inappropriate posts from Yelp’s platform.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all content on the platform adheres to Yelp’s community guidelines and policies.
- User Reporting: Act upon user-reported comments, assessing them against Yelp’s standards and taking appropriate action.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all actions taken during moderation to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other moderators and teams to identify patterns of spam or inappropriate content, contributing to ongoing improvement efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify and differentiate between genuine content and spam or inappropriate posts.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills for interacting with team members and documenting actions taken.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfort with using moderation tools, and familiarity with content management systems.
- Judgment: Ability to make quick, informed decisions about content removal while maintaining consistency with Yelp’s policies.
- Problem-Solving: Creative thinking to anticipate and address emerging patterns of spam and inappropriate content.
Experience
- Prior Experience: Previous experience in content moderation, social media management, or a similar role is highly preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with user-generated content platforms and understanding of community guidelines enforcement.
Working Hours
- Flexible Hours: This is a remote position with flexible working hours, but you may be required to work during peak times, including evenings and weekends, depending on the volume of content needing moderation.
- Time Commitment: Full-time or part-time positions are available, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
