Job Summary:

The Operations Engineer for our Petrochemical Plant plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all plant processes. You will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day operations, optimizing production, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the petrochemical plant, ensuring that processes run smoothly and meet production targets.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate plant processes and systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase output.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide support in identifying and resolving operational and technical issues that arise during plant operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local and international safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, operators, and maintenance staff to ensure seamless coordination and operational success.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and generate reports on plant performance, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of petrochemical processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Proficiency in using plant management software and engineering tools.
  • A deep understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations in the petrochemical industry.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in operations engineering within the petrochemical, chemical, or industrial manufacturing industries.
  • Practical experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and system monitoring.
  • Previous exposure to managing plant operations and leading teams in a high-stakes, regulated environment.

Working Hours:

  • Standard working hours: 40 hours per week, with the possibility of rotating shifts or on-call duties depending on operational needs.
  • Flexibility may be required to accommodate project deadlines or plant emergencies.
