Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced OSP Engineer to support Outside Plant design and planning activities. This is an hourly position requiring strong technical expertise in copper and fiber network design, along with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan Outside Plant (OSP) copper and fiber optic networks including underground (UG), aerial, and buried installations.
- Develop manhole and conduit designs in compliance with industry standards.
- Support BAU, FTTP, Hi-Cap, and FTTx projects.
- Contribute to fiber backbone (F1) and distribution network (F2) design and analysis.
- Utilize design and drafting tools such as Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and project updates using Microsoft Office.
- Communicate daily progress updates to managers and stakeholders.
- Analyze, interpret, and manage technical and project data accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining the ability to work independently.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred).
- Field experience in BAU, FTTP, Hi-Cap, or related OSP environments.
- Strong understanding of OSP copper and fiber optic cable design and construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid knowledge of basic computer systems and technology concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
Preferred / Desirable Skills
- Experience with NetCracker.
