Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and internal records to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and standards, including tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and assist in the preparation of necessary documentation.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and operational improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting financial practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information clearly.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a part-time or contractor capacity.
  • Experience working with financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with small to medium-sized business accounting practices is a plus.

Working Hours

  • This is a part-time, contractor position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate your availability.
