Job Summary:

• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, optimization, and updates.
• Implement security protocols and manage database access controls to protect sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Work with DevOps teams to automate database deployments and manage configurations.
• Provide expert guidance to teams on best practices for database design and optimization.
• Participate in the development and execution of disaster recovery and data backup strategies.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to database architecture and technology stacks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with major relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Ability to design and implement scalable database architectures for complex applications.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in database management or platform engineering.
• Prior experience with cloud databases and distributed database systems is a plus.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
