Job Summary:
Fresher Jobs is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Platform Engineer (DB Specialist) to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database platforms to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate database solutions into new and existing applications.
- Monitor database health, performance, and usage patterns, addressing any issues proactively.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, optimization, and updates.
- Implement security protocols and manage database access controls to protect sensitive data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Work with DevOps teams to automate database deployments and manage configurations.
- Provide expert guidance to teams on best practices for database design and optimization.
- Participate in the development and execution of disaster recovery and data backup strategies.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to database architecture and technology stacks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with major relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Solid understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Ability to design and implement scalable database architectures for complex applications.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in database management or platform engineering.
- Prior experience with cloud databases and distributed database systems is a plus.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
