Release Technician / Engineer (Night Shift – Remote)

Job Summary

Fresher Job is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Release Technician/Engineer for our Night Shift team. This remote position plays a crucial role in the software release management process, ensuring that our products are deployed smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage release schedules, troubleshoot issues, and enhance our deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end release process, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of software releases.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software products.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot deployment issues in real-time.
• Create and maintain release documentation, including release notes, deployment procedures, and rollback plans.
• Implement best practices for release management, including automation and continuous integration strategies.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of tools and scripts for efficient release management.
• Provide on-call support during release windows, addressing any issues that arise.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software development and deployment processes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a release management, DevOps, or similar role.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.
• Previous experience in a remote work setting is advantageous.

Working Hours

• Night shift: 10 PM to 6 AM (local time), Monday to Friday.
• Flexibility to accommodate urgent release schedules as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in monitoring and performance tuning of deployment processes.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices is a plus.
