Job Summary
Southwest Airlines is seeking a highly skilled Remote AI & Automation Specialist to join our innovative team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy AI-driven solutions for operational efficiency, including predictive maintenance, scheduling, and customer service automation.
- Design and implement machine learning models to improve decision-making and optimize airline processes.
- Automate repetitive business and IT processes to reduce manual workload and improve response times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and customer service, to identify automation opportunities.
- Monitor, evaluate, and refine AI models to ensure high accuracy and performance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and automation technologies.
- Ensure compliance with airline industry regulations and data security standards when implementing AI solutions.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on AI tools and automated systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation frameworks.
- Experience with AI tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with automation tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Power Automate.
- Knowledge of cloud computing services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or automation roles.
- Prior experience in the airline, transportation, or logistics industry is a plus.
- Experience implementing AI-driven solutions in customer service, operations, or IT.
Working Hours
- Flexible remote work schedule with core business hours aligned to Central Time (CT).
- Occasional availability for virtual meetings with global teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and automation workflows.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and recommend AI-driven improvements.
- Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and chatbot development.
- Ability to handle and process large datasets efficiently.
- Understanding of airline industry operations is beneficial.
