We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with specialty-specific coding expertise to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately reviewing, interpreting, and coding medical documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards, payer guidelines, and organizational quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • Current and active AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential (required)

  • Specialty coding experience (e.g., Cardiology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Radiology, E/M, etc.)

  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional coding experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology

  • Familiarity with payer policies, NCCI edits, and documentation guidelines

  • Experience with EHR/EMR and coding software systems


Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing clinical documentation to assign accurate CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes

  • Ensuring all coding meets regulatory, payer, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborating with providers to clarify documentation and coding questions

  • Monitoring coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks

  • Assisting with coding audits or QA reviews when needed

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and specialty-specific rules

  • Supporting process improvements and contributing to a high-quality coding workflow


Requirements

  • Active CPC certification from AAPC

  • Reliable computer and secure high-speed internet connection

  • Ability to work remotely in a compliant, private workspace

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
