Job Summary
Fresher Jobs is seeking a reliable and dedicated School Bus Driver/Activities Driver/Sub Bus Driver to join our team. This position is essential in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and various extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate will prioritize student safety, exhibit excellent driving skills, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any concerns that may arise.
- Supervise students while on the bus, promoting appropriate behavior and addressing any issues that may occur.
- Assist with loading and unloading students, particularly those with special needs.
- Serve as a substitute driver when regular drivers are unavailable, providing consistent and dependable support.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance driving skills and knowledge of safety protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to children and adults.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
Experience
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a transportation-related role is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus.
Working Hours
- Part-time and full-time positions available.
- Hours will vary based on school schedules and extracurricular activities, including early mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings.
