Senior Financial Analyst – Healthcare – Remote – Cigna

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Provide detailed financial analysis of healthcare operations, including revenue, expenses, and profitability. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans for Cigna’s healthcare services. Collaborate with business units to ensure financial targets are met and performance is aligned with organizational goals.
• Cost Analysis & Optimization: Analyze healthcare program costs, identify opportunities for cost savings, and recommend strategies to improve financial performance without compromising service quality.
• Data-driven Insights: Use financial modeling, data analytics, and forecasting tools to provide actionable insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), enabling Cigna to make informed business decisions.
• Compliance & Financial Risk Management: Ensure financial processes and reports are in compliance with healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls. Assist with risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks in healthcare operations.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with operational teams, healthcare providers, and business leaders to align financial goals with operational objectives and enhance overall efficiency.
• Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, streamline reporting methods, and implement best practices to drive overall financial performance within the healthcare sector.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role, preferably within the healthcare or insurance industry.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, with experience using tools like Excel, Tableau, or other financial software.
• Knowledge of healthcare financial processes, including claims, provider payments, and revenue cycles.
• Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance tracking in a healthcare setting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with healthcare financial systems or familiarity with health insurance financial reporting.
• CPA, CFA, or similar financial certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the healthcare industry (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines).
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) in a healthcare context.
