The Role
We are seeking a Data Center Team Lead to drive the local execution of standardized data center workflows, proactively triage system anomalies, and identify opportunities for operational scalability across the data center campus. This role serves as the on-site technical and people leader, working closely with the Site Services Manager to mentor and develop a high-performing team of data center technicians.
As a subject matter expert, the Data Center Team Lead collaborates with cross-functional partners to continuously improve processes, communicate strategy and vision, and ensure operational excellence within the facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and assist in leading a team of data center technicians to restore and maintain healthy systems in production environments.
- Translate leadership vision and global standards into effective execution at the local data center level.
- Mentor, coach, and train junior technicians to enhance technical skills and performance.
- Manage server upgrades, integrations, automated OS provisioning, system rebuilds, and project-based initiatives.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, networking, and Linux OS-related issues using established procedures.
- Perform system diagnostics and root-cause analysis in alignment with standard operating procedures.
- Execute hardware decommissioning for refreshes and approved changes.
- Communicate, document, and escalate incidents in accordance with AMD leadership and reporting protocols.
- Participate in daily safety briefings, complete required safety training, and strictly adhere to safety standards.
- Promote a collaborative and positive team culture through active communication, knowledge sharing, and engagement.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as required.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work at varying heights.
- Ability to correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the data center facility.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, manual handling, precise control adjustments, and physical tasks without loss of productivity.
Preferred Experience & Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of server hardware, including in-depth understanding of component and system-level failures.
- Proven ability to work independently and within geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Expert-level experience using IPMI for system diagnostics.
- Proficiency in administering diagnostic tools, testing utilities, and firmware updates.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS and WinPE administration.
- Experience with Linux PXE services (preferred).
- Network troubleshooting experience across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 (preferred).
- Scripting experience in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with virtual machine setup and environment configuration.
Academic Credentials & Certifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.
- CCENT or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with Windows Operating Systems.
- CCNA certification (preferred).
- MCP / MCSE certification (preferred).
